Clinton Miglior! i: In response to the first few answers: There's a huge difference between asking for help and asking someone to write your essay for you. This is not tutoring, it's cheating. Yes, some of these kids are asking for help, and it's a nice resource for that, but seriously when I read, "Okay I'm counting on you guys to write me a great essay and use lots of good words and complex sentences like I know you guys can do," I want to beat the stuffing out of somebody. That's ridiculous. It is not "helping kids with their homework when one just gives them the answer or does the work for them." The product is not the purpose. The process and the ability to work through it is the purpose.Teachers and schools are being brutally criticized and blamed for the stupidity and ineptitude of young people, yet we are a society that sees nothing wrong with this insipid intellectual laziness. Roxane Leathers: This is why tests are given in school. This is no worse than students getting tutors to help with their homework, and much more affordable for many american families. Yes, some are cheating, but many are really learning what they didn't pick up sitting at the back of a class full of 45 other noisy kids.
