Mahalia Brindle: This depends on what you want to do in advertising. I teach marketing, and I find that a lot of people who think they want to go into advertising think they will be developing the ads themselves. For that, you would need a degree in some form of art. If you want to manage the process, marketing would usually be a better degree, but if your school doesn't offer that at the undergraduate level, then yes, find the closest thing you can.
