Jeff Frizzell: Deferred action is a discretionary determination to defer removal action of an individual as an act of prosecutorial discretion. Deferred action does not confer lawful status upon an individual. In addition, although an alien granted deferred action will not be considered to be accruing unlawful presence in the United States during the period deferred action is in effect, deferred action does not absolve individuals ofany previous or subsequent periods of unlawful presence. Under existing regulations, an individual who has been granted deferred action is eligible to receive employment authorization for the period of deferred action, provided he or she can demonstrate an economic necessity for employment. Debora Soliani: These kids deserve an equal chance at life in America. They have no fault of their own because of the position that they a! re in. Yes, maybe it is the fault of their parents, but on the other hand, if their parent had a way to provide papers for them, I am sure they would. A parent sacrifices everything for their child. They came here for a better life and America should give it to them. Deferred Action is a great idea, only 2 more days to start filing for it. It is a reward for those who deserve it and for those who qualify. The punishment was not having papers all this time. It is fair, they are going to get educated, find jobs, and start business that creates new jobs! Good luck Dreamers....Show more
