Mitsuko Manne: most jobs you would get that would directly relate to your degree would fall under the "self employed" category. the general theme would be using anything you learned in school to make some money. this could be anything from fine art to sign painting. some people go into Gallery work or pursue the museum curatorial side of the art world. for these jobs a degree in art history might be as use full as a degree in painting/visual arts. a related job would be art handler, an art handler moves art around. frame shops are another popular artist job. others artists go into teaching. teaching in universities is usually preferable because you don't have to worry about budget issues as much. if you want to teach collage you usually have to go to grad school though. the final teaching subgroup is teaching outside of an institution. this is a good mix betw! een the two. there is usually less to worry about budget wise but you probably wont get health care. there are many design oriented jobs that relate to painting but for those it is best to seek a design related degree. design jobs have there own advantages and pitfalls. many artists seek Additional employment to fiance there artistic work....Show more
